Broken... 365-81

march 22
Many things were broken today...
including my mommy heart..

today.. my son was attacked in his classroom..
by another student. while sitting on the floor..
while the teacher was in the room..
we have been a mix of emotions.. all of us..
shocked.. and down right pissed.

unfortunately. if you are under the age of 15 in Norway..
you can't really get into trouble..
the max. punishment ?
3 days at home..  OUCH..
I am sure.. that 3 days at home .. playing on your iPhone & PlayStation
must be pretty PAINFUL..

this isn't the first time the child has been sent home for being violent..
but he had never broke a bone.. ahem..
keep you posted..

This is horrible! I hope your son feels better soon and somehow somebody does something about the violent student. xoxo

Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
Thank you!

This is just sad. A complaint to Barnevernskontoret perhaps so they can do some checking?

Hope your son comes through this in a good way.

I'm so sorry this happened to Dane! He seems like such a good-hearted young man! I hope the teacher is reprimanded for letting this happen in her presence! Here (TX) the attacker probably would have been kicked out of school for the rest of the year.

I'm so sorry this is happening! I hope the teacher and the principle are taking steps to protect your son and others from the violent student. I'm assuming the child's parents have been notified. I hope they are planning to take their kid to some therapy sessions/anger mgmt. type classes or something. I hope they are doing something!!! I wish there was something I could do. <3
Unbelievable! I'm so sorry I'm sure as a mother you had to use great restraint to not go all Momma Bear on them! I hope he heals fast. ((hugs))

Oh gosh - this is awful! And with the laid-back Scandinavian attitude you really have to fight to get something done.

Child services absolutely needs to get involved - the kid is out of hand.

I feel awful for you guys! Hugs.
Hello again, just stopping by after a month of Sundays!
You know what? I've worked for years in an elementary school here in the states, and never before have I witnessed the kind of violence that I have this year.
Kids as young as Kindergarten, 5 years old, physically abusing other students and teachers!!! And you what the punishment is? They go to the office, get a whole bunch of attention for being naughty, sometimes a call home, and then they are sent back to class.
Our little school has at least 16 children that are red flagged as violent, VIOLENT!
You know all the school shootings we've been having? If something isn't done to help these kids, there will be hell to pay.
So sorry your son had this experience, bad things happen to good people, and bad people get away with it :(
