American in Norway

ARGH...less than a month till Bjørns 40th b-day....! I am starting to feel the pressure- which I put on myself .... I just want his big day to be SPECIAL... I know..he could care less about the details... He would be happy with a Norwegian Cold Board... salmon, kjøtt kaker etc.... & a store bought cake. But as y'all KNOW... I LOVE Birthday parties.... The problem is living growing up in the states...having my BFF's be the Martha Stewarts of the Midwest..I have all of these AWESOME ideas... without the resources to pull it together... We don't have your giant party stores here... there are no Hobby Lobby's or Michael's to go & get all of the cake decorating stuff & decorations I would need to try to pull something AWESOME off... I bought a few things in the US (decoration wise) but that was before I decided on going BLACK & WHITE... So now I have to put my thinking cap on & figure out how to get my hands on all of the things I need.... & I ne...

OK I know y'all think I am a pretty cool chic... the kind of chic who would be eating SUSHI all of the time... cause it is the cool thing to do, but I have to admit...I had never tried nor had the desire to try sushi (regardless of how COOOOL it sounds) until last night.. We headed over to the fabulous Caroline's to celebrate her birthday... We had SUSHI... which I must admit was AWESOME... who knew? ( Ok obviously a lot of y'all )& L O A D S of red wine.... mix that up with wonderful friends & you have a hellava good time. Don't get me started on Caroline... I could just G U S H about what a lovely person she is.... Not often that you meet someone & you just CLICK...especially when you meet each other via a blog... & on top of that our families CLICKED.... Thanks to mormor & aunt Ali who bought Guitar Hero for Dane's birthday, Dane has decided to go for a GUITAR HERO theme... all of the kids have to dress up like their favorite rock star... (have I mentioned there is NO ONE around here who does a THEME.. you know they think I am NUTs ...) Oh well wish me LUCK... 20.... 10 years olds fighting over ONE guitar hero... I better find something else to entertain them with...
