American in Norway

E... yes, another favorite! ... I bet you are wondering now if there are an letters that I don't like... (ask me in a week..LOL) (pronounced Ava) Surgar and spice and everything nice... that is my baby girl Eva... Nah... don't let the long hair and bows fool you... she is a total Tom-boy who will allow me to dress her up  this little girl is one tough CHIC.. self suffcient, who can get the job done. . Watch out boys... cause she is ready to kick a little butt... Eva is a  ray of sunshine in our life...  she looks a lot like me... but is very much like her daddy... I think Eva will end up being the child content to put down roots.. and grow where she is planted Eva is thoughtful and kind... and always has a surprise for me when I return from my business trips. and is friends with EVERYONE... I am really enjoying my week of "Home Officce"....  Getting my babies ready for school... having time in the morning... My mornings here in Norway are different than the mornings we shared in the U.S. Yesterday, I asked Eva to run & get something out of my car.... She came in YELLING...Mamma there are MOOSE standing by your car! MOOSE?... surely she means deer? ...Moose? I looked through the glass door..No moose... ran to the back deck... Sure enough... there were THREE Moose in our back yard... a mama & her babies... Of course of all times NOT to have my camera ready... Thankfully our neighbor saw them too & snapped this...  I have heard rumors of moose roaming the neighborhood... but this is the first time I have seen it!  Pretty.Freaking.Awesome. I walked Eva & a couple of the neighborboys to school today.... Of course they can never take the shortest path... Noooo... it was through the woods... over the hills....  I thought about yelling for...

Oh yes.. it is that time again.. Birthday Party Time. With Eva having a summer b-day we always have to put it off until school starts.. This year.. I was going to take it E.A.S.Y..  no big theme... no big deal... I bought a few odds in ends while we were in the US and decided on a CUP CAKE theme.. I bought a ton of cake decorating things thinking - the girls can all make their own cupcakes... & take them home . This year I was going to make an EASY cake... so I wasn't up all night trying to think of something FABULOUS... I even did a test run...  (forgot to make a giant cherry - note to self) This Birthday is going to be LOW KEY... just cupcakes... no big deal...  not buying tons & tons of decorations.. Y'all should see my basement... Wild West.. Harley Davidson, Rock Star, Luau, Hannah Montanna  FULL of left over party decorations...  (please let me know if you need some) Not going to do it this year... NOT. GOING.TO.DO.IT... & then an A...

Just thought I would share some pictures of the kids weekend with their daddy... I was stuck working all weekend..but Bjørn did a fabulous job of keeping the kids busy during their fall break. He threw the camping gear in the back of the van & headed south... First stop Kristiansand ... this is a BIG summer holiday place..  turns out to be pretty nice in the fall as well... They have a zoo.. not sure if this is the only Zoo in Norway...but Bjørn said it was nice.. much nicer than the Kansas City Zoo.. (which I think is the only zoo our children have been to) Added bonus.. there was an indoor water park... have I mentioned both or our children were born with finns? - they are total water babies... Bjørn didn't take any pictures for fear of not having a battery for when they arrived to Prekestolen.. (eye roll..) - so glad he reserved the battery for all 10 pictures he took.. Anyone who has been reading American in Norway for a while KNOWS...that one of " THOSE "days.. Is usually a RANT about the HUGE Zit that popped up right before a big meeting.. or my MIL making me CRAZY...or the zillion things I have to do..which I have yet to start because I am BLOGGING... (I know... I have a really ROUGH life..) But today was one of those OTHER kind of days.... The kind of day that starts with a good bye kiss from my husband... (although I am sleeping...I always know when he kisses me good bye) I was awakened by Eva crawling into my bed for a little cuddle & the "little man" aka BABY BOY putting coffee on for me ...before my feet hit the floor... (I have taught that child RIGHT!!... ) The kids were off of school for a planning day, so I took the day off to be with them.... After kisses, cuddles & coffee... we had a little breakfast.... went for a bike ride in the sunny-ish fall weather.... I made homemade Potato Soup ...(to.die.for.) whil...
