American in Norway

I am LOVING Fridays again... (OK, I ALWAYS love Fridays...)  But now since I started hanging back out at Lisa's The Long Road to China & back.... I am LOVING BLOGGING on Fridays... I am motivated to whip out my camera & document our lives again... I have been SOO bad this year! Last week, Bjørn & I decided at the last min.. to grab our babies & take a cruise to Kiel... It was their Fall Break... and we felt that ONCE again they had been gipped out of doing something COOL. Our poor deprived babies... Our options were an 8 hour drive to LEGO LAND in Denmark... Or a 2 day cruise to Germany. We decided on the cruise.. so that we could have a little break too...  & y'all KNOW how much Bjørn and I LOVE CRUISING... It has been so long since I have had time to concentrate on taking pictures.... I miss it... I have been looking though some of my favorite photo blogs for inspiration....  and found my way back to  Long  Road to China... I always find so much inspiration from Lisa.... and found some additional photo blogs though her which   I am now digging. :-) My favorite photo this week is from Rhodes.... old town... so much history... so much beauty... AMAZING town... Although the week was much more WORK than leisure.... It was a good week away.. The thing I was DREADING most... (standing before 200 NORWEGIANS.. giving a speech... telling jokes (trying to be witty) & presenting awards in NORWEGIAN...  turned out pretty good... I know that if I could pull THAT off, I can pretty much do anything... The enitre week I was in Rhodes... I kept thinking of how much I wished I had my kiddos with me... Greece is one of all of my favorite places... and I have so many ...

When I found out last spring (before I landed the job) that I would be going to Greece for a week... I was THRILLED... Greece.. is one of my all time favorite places on earth...  OK Santorini to be more exact... is one of my favorite places on earth... But none the less I was headed for sunshine & Greece... sigh.. it was all good.... I worked a lot....during the week... but who can complain too much when your "office" looked like this? The old town was AMAZING... Open ALL night... for eating, drinking & shopping... I was a VERY good girl & did NOT buy any jewelry... remembering all of the items I had bought during my previous trips to Greece.... I did however treat myself to this yummy red briefcase..... I looked all over the US this summer for a RED briefcase... & NADA... so I was thrilled when I found this in the Old Town...  My co workers liked it so much... they each bought red ones too...  no worries.-- they live in different cities. ...

It has been AGES since I have been able to blog... As y'all know I was in Greece one week for work...  home 36 hours... just long enough to do my first ever PHOTO SHOOT... woo hoo...  & then turned around and headed to Spain... in Madrid until tomorrow. really thought I might have a quiet night or two in the hotel... to actually go through my pictures & blog a bit... HA. My butt is dragging with 14 hour days with meetings & late late dinners...(with good Spanish wine.) Be back soon to tell about all of my adventures.

Bergen was AMAZING ... what a fantastic city.... I only wish I hadn't spent then entire day in meetings...   I also wish I hadn't booked my return flight so early the next day. After our day long meeting, our boss planned dinner for us on top of the Fløibanen. We took the Funicular up to the.. Fløien Folkerestaurant Delicious food.. & great service (Roberto) ...   oh yes & the wine... :-) We were running a couple of hours behind... so I was worried  about not being able to FINALLY  meet Megan from "A Suitcase and Stilettos" But Meghan was a trooper and waited for me.  We thought we would grab a "quick drink" - I had to be up by 5:00 am to get to the airport... HA... well one drink led to another.. & the conversation just flowed... Why do I always try to kid myself.. saying I will call it an early evening? I knew it wouldn't be... Of course we talked for hours... We met a nice American family who took these pictures for us......

Hi y'all!    Been a BUSY BUSY girl... traveling all over Southern Norway for work.... Tønsberg... Oldest town in Norway Kristiansand I am always AMAZED how beautiful these tiny little towns are... Too bad I am always driving & on a tight schedual I am POOPED... Hønefoss (Jevnaker) I haven't been blogging & I haven't been checking my personal email account.  (oops) I finaly got around to checking my emails this morning... I had over 600 something... & found 8 E I G H T emails in the past 2 weeks from people moving to Norway asking for advice. I feel HORRIBLE... I really do try to be helpful... I am more than Happy to offer advice & help where I can. SO I apologize for my delay in getting back to y'all... I am a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Blogger.  I miss my dear blog I really do.... Every once in a while I will pop by...(with the intention of writing something)  & read a couple of old posts... or look at some pictures of the kids... Makes me sad I don't have the time to blog on a regular basis... STOCKHOLM was AMAZING-.... I could TOTALLY live in that city...  I have been to Stockholm before but never with a bunch of SWEDES.. Even MORE fun... During my 2 days in Stockholm... I went to the Corporate Office.... I met the CEO.  I had lunch with the Nordic director... I went to our "concept store" .... was invited to the company SUMMER Party...  with the most amazing VIEW...  (Managed to pull a few outfits together... - thank you for all of your help.!) MY FABULOUS COUNTERPART  <----     from Bergen... I went on a tour of the factory... where they make most of the bath products... HEAVEN... Love the expr...
