No but what would it take to get you to TRY it?
Not really into Avon, but haven't really tried. The only thing I remember is some hand lotion that was supposed to work like a bug spray? My Mom used to slather us in that.

I think the only thing that might get me to buy some was if a friend of mine was selling it. Also, if they gave me some free samples that I liked, I might be more inclined.

But other than that, I would stick with the products I use and enjoy.

My hesitation with buying from a catalog like that is that you can't sample to product first, so you don't know if the colors will be "right" for you skin tone, etc... So, I concur with the free sample idea. Another possible idea: a discount for first time buyers (like 10% or something). That way you have incentive to try it out. I haven't used Avon since middle school when we used to buy tinted lip balm and SkinSoSoft. :)

I'm not sure why I've got something 'against' Avon...I don't even know if I've ever tried it, to be honest! I've been invited to the Avon parties but always declined; I'm not one to sit around talking about makeup and skincare products. Honestly (and I'm sure you're not able to fix this one overnight ;D) Avon has a bit of an 'old lady' stamp on it....in my head at least LOL...And it annoys me that it has to be ordered, instead of bought spontaneously like most of my other purchases (also, I'm not sure if it still works this way, but I'm not comfortable having to order my personal items THROUGH someone I know...silly, I realize!) Finally, THE PRICE. It's kinda expensive, yeah? So, for me to actually TRY it? I think I'd have to receive some for a birthday present, or something!

I have recently become an Avon fan. I love their Anew skincare line and have found some good makeup.

What got me started? I guess it was a little bit of fate--I was just about to the point when I needed to get some new skincare products and someone left me a catalog when they were taking their child trick-or-treating. That was it!

I am a tricky one when it comes to makeup and skin products and the like. I have never really used a lot of money on those type of things and probably never would have if Norway didn't help me develop crazy sensitive skin. ;)

I think it would help a skeptic like me if I got to try the products--like if a makeup artist did me up and I liked the result or something like that. And to be brutally honest, it would have to be free because I am not necessarily looking for something new (a lot of women are probably in this same boat I would guess).

Never been a big Avon fan---I remember looking at my Mom's catalogs when I was a kid.

I am also not very consistent about wearing a makeup brand although I did go through a Mary Kay phase a few years ago.

I recently started using Avon- for me it was as simple as word of mouth. A friend at work said a friend was selling and asked me if i wanted to look in the magazine. normally i dont go for that kind of stuff but i decided to give it a look. I really liked the products that were being offered, and equally if not more, the prices! i got a steal on some fabulous perfume and amazing facial moisturizer! Who doesn;t love a soft face for 3 euros?? as good as quality as the high street shops, but for a quarter of the price! i'll be buying again!

I've never really been big on Avon because I don't like the idea of purchasing things that I can't see/smell before I buy them. I suppose if I knew for a fact that they did no animal testing and saw good reviews of non-makeup products, I might be willing to give them a shot!

Hi there! My friend started selling Avon a few months ago. I have used the skin so soft as a bug repellent but that's about it. I wanted to support my friend but I only use organic products. I know I sound like a nut-but I don't think it's a coincidence Cancer rates are sky high-we have so many chemicals in our food, make up, shampoo, dish soap...so we are pretty chemical free. My friend said that they Avon doesn't make any organic products. So I'll stick with what I currently use.

I am 33 and got some Avon makeup from my mom this Christmas. It is actually really nice (I usually buy MAC or Lancome or Clinique etc for myself). So in my case, trying the makeup definitely helped.

I use Avon. I've used it since I was in my middle 20's. I buy it online now and it ships to my house. I like it a lot. I usually buy eye makeup, it goes on great and is not expensive. I also use the skin so soft body oil and I love it after a shower. I know it used to be "old lady" but they really have upped their game. Plus you can return anything you don't like for a full refund.

I went out a couple years ago and invested a couple hundred dollars in Bare Minerals. Too bad I realized shortly after the brushes seriously irritated my sensitive skin and all the loose minerals bothered my contacts. It ended up a total waste.

Haven't used Avon since high school. But, I'd be interested in seeing how it's changed.

I have used Avon products for many years and I love them! I must say that they weren't so good some years ago, but today I'm pretty much satisfied of all Avon products I own:)

Oh Tressa - you are going to kill me ..... but please ... everyone .. all women AND men .. take the time to research skincare.

The way of the future in human health, anti-aging and medicine is the "genetic route" - do not take my word for it - RESEARCH!!!

NuSkin Enterprises is an absolute leader in this area by teaming with Stanford and Purdue Universities plus LifeGen Technologies. There is a better way to help our skin and body age and look better by nutritional asssitance thru leading technology - PLEASE ... everyone take the time to check out this website:
nsoverview.com

Then call Tressa and hopefully Tressa you will call me - although I sell the products - Tressa - I promised I wouldn't bother you with this - but as a "foreign friend" _ I could not be silent with your AVON question - no harm meant to AVON and all the very best to you one way or the other. And if you go with Avon - all the very best too!!

Cheers from Canada,
Brenda

All the best

I'm a bit skeptical of Avon, just like Mary Kay and Pampered Chef and the candle business thingie (not to mention the sexy times parties)...they all seem pyramid-schemish to me. I like the products, but I feel this guilt that I have to keep buying and buying, and that's what I don't like. I don't like the implied pressure of these companies, which is why I've never tried Avon.

But from a merely "buying a cosmetic" angle, I like something I can try. I don't like catalogs because I have no idea what it will look like on me. If I know something suits me, and looks good on me, and I want it, I'll get it.

Hmmm Avon, for me it falls down to this: they are considered old and outdated. What will it take for me to try it: Repackaging and updating their image- and products that provide results as well as a heavy plug from a friend.

I agree with comments 3 and 4. Samples help a lot. And discounts. :)

Long time lurker, first time commenter. I think I would need to try the product, esp the anti-aging products.
Love your pics!

Okay...so I totally am going to be honest here.

I am 27 and don't use Avon products ever. I think the reason I don't use them is I don't find them easily accessible (Sephora is within walking distance), and my grandma uses them :-( So, by nature, when I think of Avon, I think of my Grandma.

I think what would make me use the products is if they were more readily available and I know that someone my age who loves makeup can find products that are fun, colorful, and practical. I am not saying they already aren't, but I would have to gain exposure to them to see what they offer :-)

I hope this helps and wasn't offensive to anyone!

I do not use Avon products. My grandmothers both used Avon products, and they remind me of grandmas. Plus, they're sort of a hassle to get hold of, so I tend to buy things I can just go to the shop and pick off the shelf.

I use them - a friend of mine has just started to sell it door to door and is doing really well. She sells to mothers who are at home with small children and can't cope with the hassle of wandering around a busy store with small kids in tow. Being pretty rural helps, too.

The things she has given me have been excellent, there is a brilliant hair product in an orange plastic bottle that stops your hair going fizzy in the rain.
I would say a party... because I like to socialize, and if everyone else is trying or sampling the product that why not me! That's how I work... :)
Love this blog, keep up the great work wish you all the best
