I KNOW... it seems like EXCUSES EXCUSES as to why I never write anymore... But really... in my defense... Eva & I came back from the states...(without Dane) had 4 days to TRY to unpack & do a load of laundry before we took to the skys AGAIN... Guess where we went..... Hello little plug to RYANAIR ... yes, I LOVE YOU RYANAIR.... I would love anything that took me to see my loved ones for a mere $25 each way...LOVE LOVE LOVE you! (this is a view of our area....pretty, isn't it?) Can you guess where we went? Still noooo idea? I knew the Fish & Chips would give it away.... Eva & I went across the pond to see some of my bestest friend from the GOOD 'Ol SEABOURN Cruise line DAYS... Us... in the good Ol SEABOURN days... sigh.... I do a pretty fair amount of traveling... I should be better about posting reviews here... There have been many places in the past year which have been AWESOME... I have NEVER E V E R felt so compelled to post a BAD review... a really HORRIBLE review.. But here it goes... Kimberling Oaks resort mold mildew horrible management offensive As I mentioned in my previous post.. we had a HORRIBLE stay at Kimberling Oaks resort in Kimberling City,MO.. on Table Rock Lake. I have never in all of my years of travelling, encountered people like the owners of this resort... What started out as a misunderstanding which would have been rectified by a simple apology from the owner.. ended up making this one of my worst stays anywhere EVER... The last two weeks since my last post has been AMAZING... We had one day in Kansas City before heading down to Branson MO... Table Rock Lake.. I had forgotten how amazing the lake was... we vacationed here as children, and am so happy we were able to bring our children... ALL of our children to the lake... The entire family hadn't been together since my baby sis' wedding 2 years ago... I took thousands of photos... but will just a share a few with you today.... Pretty much EVERYTHING about the week at the lake was perfect...except our cabins... We stayed at Kimberling Oaks "resort"in Kimberling City, MO... lets just say a total disaster...but I will have to save that for another post. Will be getting on the bus to the airport tomorrow morning... 3 :30 am to be exact... Starting the 18 hour trip HOME... to celebrate my daddy's 70th birthday. 70...WOW. It doesn't seem possible... when I think of my dad I still see him as his 50 year old self... is that weird? After the health scares /pace maker we had this year... we appreciate how blessed we are to be able to come to celebrate his 70th. We will all be gathering 4 children, 4 children in law, my mother- his wife of 48 years.. 8 grandchildren... uncles, aunts, cousins.... to show pops how much we love him... I CAN*T WAIT! I will try to post while I am away, but we all know how lame I have been as of late... In another news... my on again, off again blogging has paid of in 15 min of fame... : -) Bjørn & I were contacted to do an episode for American TV about moving from the US to Norway... Been trying to think of a title for this post... One bad apple..."No more Mrs. Welcome Wagon" I am seriously BUMMED today... I have always been very open about my life as an expat. I have always tried to be as helpful as possible.... helping other expats getting adjusted... I was let down in a really big way by someone I went out of my to help... Its my own fault really... I put myself out there to people I don't know. Thank GOODNESS it was only myself who was professionally mortified ... I think the reason I do this is because I WISH I had had someone to help me through the transition of moving to another country... advice.. telling me all of my mixed emotions are normal. Many of us expats go through this identity crisis... Yes, you may have had a good job at home... you may have a good education.. you may have had many great possibilities at HOME... but that means nothing when you get to a foreign country... you play by their rules.
