Fridays Foto Finish Fiesta...

Time for Friday Foto Finish Fiesta with Carrie...I am playing again.... : ) Thought it would be fun to do a picture of Norway... as I am the "American in Norway" and haven't really told you much about where I live....

This was a shot shot taken by my sister.. It is the Atlantic Highway in Molde, Norway. As you drive up here, it look like your are literally about to drop off of the edge of the earth.

If you ever make it to Norway I would recommend going over to the West side of the country...

This picture reminds me of the chase scene in The Blues Brothers where they head off on one of the bridges and the road just ends. Nothing.

The Blues Brothers scene was filmed on the Summerfest Grounds in Milwaukee Wisconsin but your picture is so more cool and is worthy of like a James Bond type movie!

I am glad your life is back on the upswing (I have my fingers crossed that you keep swinging up up up and away to Chicago very safely)!

Wow, that picture is wild! It totally looks like the road just ends. Very nice photography.

I really hope to make it to Norway sometime. Thanks for the travel tip!

Hey Carrie - I remember that scene also! This picture IS very James Bond. Tressa - you live in the cool part of Norway....the part that is close enough to Sweden that you can grocery shop there.

What does that involve anyway? There are borders, right? Do you have to present a passport just to go shopping?

I live on the east coast of Norway... so although we have some nice places... love being on water in the summer... it isn't what you think of when Americans think of Norway. But YES shopping in Sweden is a plus... No need to show passports just pay the toll & your are there. They do make ramdom checks on the way back to make sure your haven't bought too much cheap chicken though!

I like that picture but your cheap chicken comment was even better! lol

I had the same thought as Carrie! The road in Blues Brothers... the road to nowhere! What a very cool picture. I'm also glad to know that Bjorn will be able to join you for your sister's wedding!

Are you only allowed to buy expensive chicken?
Cool shot!

You know I've seen this picture of yours before on your myspace slideshow...stupid me just assumed that they decided to end the road there...Sometime I think I was supposed to be the blond one in our relationship!!

Hey there! Just found you via some rabbit trail that I can't remember, and I wanted to comment that I am an American who once lived in Norway, too! I spend my high school years in Stavanger; my father was an oil man. I plan to come back, both to your blog and--someday--to Norway!

Where does the highway lead? Is there an end or you can keep going? It looks like as if the highway is unfinished.

wow... amazing pic. Cannot wait to experience it in real life!

first installment of "how I got here"...lol.
I met Mads through a mutual friend when he was in Dallas visiting 2 years ago... there was a spark and continued communication after he went back to DK, but of course, I thought "you live 5000 miles away...as if!"
But 2 months later, I got on a plane and met him in Copenhagen to see what "life in DK" was all about!
Which led to several more trips ....him coming west and me coming east... until my final one on June 18, when I arrived here, for good!! Will fill in the "middle" pieces later! :o)

That's a really cool photo.

It looks as if the road just ends there and anything speeding up there will fly off into nothing !!

That's an amazing photo, beautiful view! Scary how the road just ends on the cliff like that. I'd love to see more pictures of Norway!
