Gearing up for the big weekend..Friday Foto fiesta..

It's Friday, It's Friday, Thank Goodness it's Friday!!! YIPPEE!I'm playing Candid Carrie's Friday Foto Fiesta Finish again this week .So after you're done here, go over there and check out who's playing this week!!!
I'm sure Bjørns family would be thrilled to know I am posting their pictures all over the Internet... but shhhhhh...(we won't tell them...)
Just thought you might like to see the traditional dresses... (the 2 "big" girls have the real thing...)
I SOOO want Eva to have the REAL thing... (better start to save now...) the dresses cost Thousands of dollars... but you wear them your adult life... (good motivation not to gain weight...)
Hoping I will get lots of great pictures this weekend to give you a taste of Norway on its big day...

Hmmm yes - my father just pointed out to me that he would like to see his daughter and grand daughter in traditional Østfold bunad for next 17ende mai. I can't take the pressure.....

Saving for those dresses will just give you practice for things like weddings. Right?

Handsome family y'all have there.

When Sarah was confirmed in the Norwegian church she borrowed a bunad. She didn't want one bad enough at the time to spend the money on one, so I figure if she really wants one later she can get it herself. Julia will also probably borrow when she is confirmed next year. They are gorgeous but outrageously expensive..Happy 17th of May!!!

Beautiful photo. I love those dresses - so much detail. What about the men? I know there's a traditional outfit for men because someone recently posted a picture of it at an English wedding (all the guests were encouraged to wear their nation's traditional garb).

I would love to see an up close picture of those dresses. I'm a good seamstress...maybe, just maybe I could make a low cost alternative that she could wear now.

Love you! Have a great weekend. HEY, do you require that they celebrate the 4th of July with you? You should.

Beautiful dresses! I saw many of them in DC at the parties we attended.

I just saw that a guy from Norway won Eurovision - how exciting.
I pinky promise I won't tell.

I love traditional dresses and I really like the blue one she is wearing.

The dresses are usally really expensive cause they are handmade and there is a lot of jewelry that goes on the dress and most of that is either silver or gold.

As for not gaining weight. Most of the time these dresses are adjustebal so if you do gain weight you can still use it.

Also makes it possible for them to be inherited if there is some similarity in body type.

My sister for example inherited her great grandmothers dress.
