From Chicago to Wedding Central
We had a fabulous time in Chicago... Not enough time... But it was great... I LOVE that city....
I did manage to get the kids to Sheds Aquarium, Field Museum, American Doll store...(Dane was really excited about that) Swimming, Hancock Building, Greek Town.
I met up with my college friends on Saturday & went to "boys town" Sunday night for some "gay cabaret" I had the BEST time...
I realized my children are more European than I had thought. The kids & I ran into the grocery store, while I was paying the "bag girl" started bagging the groceries. Dane looks at her & says... "Excuse me Ma'am, but those are OUR groceries.." He thought she was going to make off with his cereal. (My kids aren't used to baggers...we have to do it our self in Norway.)
Eva is still having a little problem with the ROUND doorknobs here... (we only have handles... I think it is the same all over Europe)
So we finally arrived in Kansas City last night. Or should I say WEDDING CENTRAL?... OMGoodness..... 10 days to the big event... I think the last count is at 258 guests...WOW! The next week is going to be CRAZY.
On top of trying to get all of my American shopping done... back to school shopping... things I REALLY REALLY want shopping.... trying to get my teeth cleaned, eyes checked... get everything shipped back to Norway. I have a baby shower on Saturday, Eva's 4th birthday, my 12th wedding anniversary & a Bridal shower, which I am hosting, on Sunday. Then all of the out of town guests will start arriving.... Did I really think this was going to be my vacation?
None the less.... I am so HAPPY to be home... Just wish it could be longer....
I will try to get some pictures uploaded asap....
If I don't post much....I am sure you will understand why....
I am hosting a shower for my little sister on Sunday... Ummm... haven't even started to get it together... Just hit me this evening that I have 4 days to pull the whole thing together... Should be interesting...

We just got back from Amsterdam and I realized more and more MY child is not Euro yet! Staying in a hotel without air con is not her cup of tea!! LOL
look forward to seeing the pics whenever you can find the time to breath and post (heh).
hope you continue to enjoy your time home!

So to hear that things are going well (even though very busy!!). I MISS you!! Too bad the days of the $99 round tripfares to KC are a thing of the past...I would totally be crashing the wedding!!
Give my love to everyone!
'Excuse me Ma'am, but those are OUR groceries' had me cracking up :-)
It kind of reminded me of my reaction to full service gas stations, when I first came to the US! :-)

Have a GREAT time!
Cannot wait to hear more about your adventures - and especially what the "must haves" are that you have to ship back to Norway...
And, I too need to know a list of your must haves. Plus, do you use the metric system over there? They were postive the entire world was going to be converting when I was a youngster in the mid sixties and I never could get the hang of it. What's the deal over there?
Thinking of you during your whirlwind US tour... :)
Happy anniversary! How's Bjorn??
Good luck with the shower, I know it's stressful to host those things, but it will all be beautiful.
Interesting blog especially since Fredrikstad is my old hometown (actually from Onsøy).
Enjoy your holiday-look forward to some nice photos.
It sounds like you had a great time!
I love the reaction you kiddo had to the "bag girl!" That made me laugh!
Thanks!
